I was going to write a post about some bit of pop culture ephemera here, as usual, but this week I was reminded that there’s this boil that’s festering in fandom (and in society at large), it isn’t going away, and it needs to be addressed head on. BECAUSE YOU DEMANDED IT! Well, one of you, anyway. Last week a reader challenged me to write about the most underrated James Bond film. So here it is. Plus a bunch of ancillary commentary about the 007 phenomenon in general.
It’s Election Day in the USA! Go vote if you haven’t yet, but here’s a humorous thing for you to view before or after!
THE WEST WING and STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION are essentially the same show. They’re both optimistic at heart, filled with good people sincerely trying to do their best. No doubt about it, they have a lot in common. But the REALLY fun part is finding parallels between the characters.
Congratulations to Comic Book Legends Revealed on 600 weekly columns!
Baggywrinkles, Lucy Bellwood’s comic about tall ships and some of the history of sailing, is funny, charming, and wonderful to look at. What more could you want?
