A Tale Of One Concerts

A few months ago, I posted a whinge about my first world problem that my two favourite musical acts were performing in two theatres right near each other at the same time. Am I allowed to make a Welcome To My Nightmare At The Opera joke here?

Well, now they’re both part of the same concert the next day! (Oh, and Icehouse are another favourite of mine. Australian band. You’ve never heard of them.)

Problem solved.

I wonder if Queen will play Put Out The Fire?

I wonder if Queen will ‘do a Coldplay’ and learn You’re the Voice so John Farnham can join them onstage?

He could then return the favour and perform the infamous and awful 2003 Farnham/Queen duet We Will Rock You.

If Blind Guardian can learn You’re The Voice, I’m sure Queen can. 😀

I remember that that version of We Will Rock You existed; I think I even heard it once.

Well, Ecron, the answer to your question is basically: ‘yes’.

When the time came for Farnesy to perform You’re The Voice, Brian came back onstage to play! 🙂 It was the awesome show-ender (I’d been expecting everybody to come back together and do With A Little Help From My Friends or something.)

Just mentioning that I have heard of Icehouse and do remember the song “Hey little girl” from when it was in the UK charts

though I admit I don’t know any other songs they did

      Cool!
They had more hits than that here, the biggest being Great Southern Land.
I just remember I had a conversation about them a few years back, and the American hadn’t heard of them. But that’s US, not UK.

Oh, that’s cool. (I love that song, btw.)
The guy I talked to was fairly sheltered, but it does mean I don’t know how much of a presence they have in the US. (More than I thought, apparently! 🙂 )
