The Comic-Con 2023 Jurassic Park Experience assumes that lots of people will want to experience the world created by the original Jurassic Park thirty years ago.
They’re right in that assumption, even if that Jurassic Park Experience means being spit on by a Dilophosaurus, attacked on the toilet by a T-Rex, and escaping from a raptor in the kitchen.
It’s a short but absolutely fun experience and one of the best at Comic-Con 2023. If you are at all familiar with the original movie (and most of us are), this is worth the wait.
The photo (and video) ops are great but what makes it perfect are the actors hired for the pop-up show. I talked to a few of them to find out how pop-ups like this are put together. I discovered there is a whole industry dedicated to hiring actors and guides to make something like this feel as immersive as possible. Knowing that, however, didn’t detract from the fun of it.
From the entry, first, you view the eggs and the amber. We were warned not to touch either of them but I did anyway, living dangerously.
Then it’s onto the Dilophosaurus!
Can you avoid the T-Rex? You cannot!
There is a quick stop at the kitchen, where one has to crouch down to avoid the Raptor.
,,,,, and then onto the locked entry where Clever Girl might get you.
After that, you’re good! You’ve escaped and survived!
My only complaint about the Comic-Con 2023 Jurassic Park Experience? That there will be probably long lines for an experience that last about 20 minutes.
