Celebrating the Unpopular Arts

I’d say I’m posting this as a textbook example of its genre, but mostly I found it funny

Anyone who’s read Silver Age DC Comics knows they filled up space with gag strips written and drawn by Henry Boltinoff, brother to DC editor Murray Boltinoff. As a kid I had no idea who drew them but I was certainly aware of them. Cap’s Hobby Hints. Moolah the Mystic. Super-Turtle. Jerry the Jitterbug. And Ollie, who judging by the cartoons posted at Mike’s Amazing World, was a generic middle-aged dude who could be slotted into all sorts of situations. Like the following.

Boltinoff ain’t no Charles Schulz but that one made me laugh.
