The latest volume (8) of Airship 27’s anthology series Mystery Men (& Women) has just been released, and it contains the third Dr. Fixit story (“Dr. Fixit’s Island Getaway”) by the late, great Greg Hatcher. And Dr. Fixit is again featured in this excellent cover:
Greg himself has written at length about his Dr. Fixit character at this site before (and we also did a little write-up for the preceding volume of Mystery Men that contained his second Fixit story), so there’s no need to go into detail here. It’s probably worth mentioning, though, that the fine folks over at Airship 27 also gave Greg and his story a special shout-out at their bookstore page:
“This one was special to us,” reports Airship 27 Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “Greg Hatcher submitted his third Dr. Fixit tale to us shortly before being admitted to the hospital. His passing came as a shock to all of the New Pulp community and will miss him greatly. Look for a solo Dr. Fixit title coming later this year which will highlight Greg’s last story featuring this unique character.”
