Atomic Roundtable: Stuff We Don’t Get
Together, we at the Junk Shop have a great deal of knowledge about a great many things in the SF/fantasy genre … but there are some odd gaps in our nerd cred. Here we confess to completely missing out on classic shows or movies or whatever that are givens for most people in fan culture. Whether it’s lack of time or lack of access or just plan lack of interest, these are the normally-beloved things we don’t get.
The Puyallup Batcave
That’s what Julie called it. “Off to the Puyallup Batcave!” she had said as we were getting into the car.
But most folks know it as the Washington Summer Con at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. And damn was it FUN. One of the best ones we’ve been to.
Parlight, Parbright…
A few years ago, a bunch of Croatian comics artists created a bunch of spoof-like strips as a tribute to their pal, Goran Parlov, called Parlight Starlov – and now it’s lovely, a bona-fide book.
Has political correctness run amok in comics?!?!?
