From 1967 to around 1983, Marvel and DC were experimenting with books, magazines, any damn thing they could think of except the standard 7-by-10, 32-page stapled booklets. Because those were for kids and comics were SERIOUS AND ADULT NOW. Despite the flailing desperation of the whole effort, they often did luck into putting out some very cool books.
