Hey, remember I was telling you about our time volunteering with Hello Earth and their staging of The Empire Strikes Back in the park?
A bunch of cool things I was sure would never be available again are suddenly going to be, well, AVAILABLE. We live in strange and miraculous times when it comes to the world of genre publishing.
Somehow, we were all convinced to abandon the idea of Utopia, to give up on the notion that the future would be better than today. The reason Disneyland’s Tomorrowland was allowed to become quaint and kitsch and eventually retro-cool is that it couldn’t be updated, because we’ve had no vision for the future since the mid-1970s. Or at least not for a future that’s nicer than our present.
A little of this, a little of that. Fan films, a crowdfunding project we like, Gerry Conway and the Punisher, and the CW’s CRISIS.
Travis thinks he’s cool because he keeps starting these recently. Let’s let him keep believing that!
